Funeral Directors in Northern Ireland

Lorem.

William Bell and Co. Funeral Directors are a family owned business based in Banbridge offering funeral services to clients located in the surrounding areas including Newry, Rathfriland, Dromore, Lurgan and Portadown.

We cover anywhere in Northern Ireland where families originally from Banbridge are living at present, and we also cover the Southern part of Ireland as well.

Funeral Services

In most of our business, if someone died in hospital in Scotland or the North of England, we would travel on the ferry from Belfast to Cairnryan, then drive to whatever destination the person was. No matter where people from this area have died, we always endeavour to bring them back to Banbridge.
We carry funerals out in this area for all denominations including:

Anglican (Church of Ireland)

Presbyterian

Roman Catholic

All Other Denominations

Funeral Plans

24-Hour Personal Service

Our work is our trademark and people very much appreciate what we do for them, always endeavouring to see that their loved ones get a respectable funeral. We tend to all needs, from earth burials to cremations and give our clients the service which they require.

We can look after church services and funeral processions from their own home to the place of burial. People appreciate this service and it makes their burden so much easier to bear when all aspects of arranging the funeral service are taken care of for them.

About Us

Early in the 1800s, my grandfather, the late William Bell, a joiner by trade, started manufacturing coffins in Banbridge calling himself 'The Bann Coffin Manufacturing Company'. A few years later he purchased premises in Banbridge which consisted of 2 public houses, a grocers shop and a funeral business. After a few years, the Government of Northern Ireland brought in a ruling that only 1 license could be held by a person. He gave up what was known as 'The Echo Bar' and retained 'The Ulster Bar'.
